1.What type of license/passport is valid on Czech waterways?
The only valid type of license for inland navigation is Pleasure Craft License - Inland issued by the National Shipping Administration.

2.For which size of boat do I need a skipper's license?
For inland navigation, skipper's license (PCL) is required for any boat with engine power greater than 4kW, or sailboat with sail area from 12 m2.

3.What threatens if I sail without PCL?
If you are identified to sail without a valid license, you may be penalized by administrative action of the National Shipping Administration with a fine up to dozen thousands of CZK. The inspection likelihood is high.

4.Is PCL valid on sea waters?
PCL may be extended within a single test for offshore navigation on sea waterways, so called ICC (International Certificate of Competence for Sea) which may be used to sail in the range of 0.75 sM (1.5 km) offshore. Thus you may go to an island situated 3 km off the coast.

5.At what age can I obtain PCL?
At the age of 16, however, with engine power limitation up to 20 kW and sail area not exceeding 20m2. ISS (offshore sea navigation) may be obtained at the age of 18.

6.How are tests taken?
Tests are taken on computer where you choose one option from response alternatives.

7.Where can I get the necessary knowledge, textbooks and test questions?
All handouts and training notes are supplied by our company.
